Tragedy Hits as Accidental Detonation at Police Station in Kashmir Region Under Indian Control Results in Nine Deaths
A devastating explosion at a police station in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir has caused the fatalities of nine individuals and harm to thirty-two others, according to authority reports.
The event took place when a cache of impounded blast substances unintentionally detonated during handling procedures.

The detonation took place on the evening of Friday at the Nowgam security post, where explosive materials seized from the Faridabad area in the northern province of Haryana province were being held provisionally.
Area police chief declared that the detonation substances were pending technical investigation when a "very unfortunate" mishap during management led to their explosion at approximately 11:20 PM local.
Police Statements
Police authorities asserted that this was an "unintentional explosion" and not a militant action. "Any other speculation regarding the cause of this occurrence is unneeded," highlighted the police chief during a press briefing.
The law enforcement facility experienced severe damage from the explosion, with adjacent buildings also being impacted by the powerful blast.
Consequences and Casualties
Several automobiles were "covered in blaze and reduced to charred husks, with wreckage spread across the location," according to official reports.
"The force of the explosion was such that some body parts were recovered from nearby houses, approximately 100-200 metres away the security post," mentioned an authority informant.
Most of the victims were law enforcement personnel, along with forensic personnel, two evidence documentation specialists, and a clothing professional who was present with the personnel.

The area's Lieutenant Governor expressed sympathies and announced that an investigation had been directed into the tragic incident.
